Privacy Policy

TapTalk helps two nearby phones start a live translated conversation. We designed the MVP to keep conversation history local on your device and to use a relay only for real-time connection and message delivery.

Information we collect

  • Sign-in profile: your Apple or Google sign-in identifier and display name are used to keep your TapTalk profile available on the device.
  • Optional profile photo: if you choose one, TapTalk compresses it and stores it locally on your device.
  • Speech and translated text: while a session is active, your speech is converted to text, translated, and sent to the connected peer.
  • Connection data: short-lived pairing tokens, room identifiers, and delivery metadata may pass through the relay to connect iPhone and Android users in real time.

Local conversation history

Past conversations are saved only on your device so you can review them later. TapTalk does not operate a cloud account database for conversation history in this MVP.

Relay and nearby pairing

TapTalk uses Bluetooth signals to identify a nearby TapTalk device and a lightweight Cloudflare relay to connect different platforms. The relay is designed for real-time delivery and is not intended to store conversation history.

Permissions

TapTalk requests microphone, speech recognition, Bluetooth, local network, and nearby-device permissions only when needed for sign-in, pairing, speech capture, and real-time translation.

Sharing

During a connected session, your display name, optional profile image, speech text, and translated message content may be sent to the other participant. Apple, Google, Cloudflare, and translation/platform providers may process data according to their own policies.

Deletion and control

You can delete individual conversation histories and remove your local profile photo in TapTalk settings. Deleting the app removes local TapTalk data from the device. You can also manage Apple or Google sign-in access in your account settings.

Account and data deletion requests

If you use TapTalk with Apple or Google sign-in and want to request deletion of your TapTalk profile or related data, email ever1222@gmail.com with the subject “TapTalk account deletion request”.

  • Include the Apple or Google account email used for TapTalk so we can identify the request.
  • TapTalk can delete or stop using profile-related data associated with your sign-in, including display name, sign-in identifier, optional profile image references, pairing metadata, and support request records where applicable.
  • Conversation history in this MVP is stored locally on your device. You can delete individual histories in the app, or remove all local TapTalk data by deleting the app.
  • Some records may be retained only when required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute handling, or purchase/accounting records.

Children

TapTalk is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required in your country. Please do not use TapTalk if you are not old enough to consent to these practices.
